The Reed-Custer boys basketball team came up short, 64-54, against Wilmington on Friday after the ‘Cats took the lead in the second stanza and never looked back.
After Reed-Custer outscored Wilmington, 9-7 in the first, the ‘Cats had a 22-point second quarter to take a 29-24 lead into the half.
The Comets continued to fight as they outscored Wilmington, 18-14 in the third to make it a one point game.
But the ‘Cats outscored the Comets, 21-12 in the final quarter to shut them down.
