Alicia Moninger

WILMNGTON—Alicia Moninger, 69, of Wilmington, passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox.
Born Sept. 27, 1949 in Harvey, IL, Alicia Ellen was a daughter of Stanley and Frances (Krezmenski) Szcelina. She was raised in Harvey, graduated from Thornton High School, and went on to receive her Associates Degree from South Suburban College.
Alicia worked in the circuit clerk's office at the Will County Courthouse, and was later proud to serve as secretary for the Wilmington Park District. Alicia was very involved in the world of politics and not afraid to share her views. She loved her cats, which held a special place in her heart.
Survivors include her husband, Roy; two sons, Aaron Glogowski, of Wilmington and Richard Ruble of Pembroke Pines, FL; one granddaughter, Joselin Ruble; her sister, Dorothy Scheihing, of Oswego; mother-in-law, Ruth Chew, of Wilmington; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Deb (Scott) Stickel, of Wilmington; Amy Reeder (Ken Kuczero), of New Lenox; Carolann (Yariv) Cohen, of Northbrook, IL and Johnette (the late Doug) Moninger, of Dakota City, NE and numerous nieces, nephews and friends, as well as her best friend since first grade, Sharon.
Alicia was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services were held Saturday, June 29, 2019 at Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 E. Kahler Road in Wilmington.
Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Alicia's memory to a charity of the donors choosing.
