Arnold Castanier

MORRIS—Arnold Lee Castanier, 89, of Morris, passed away Friday, Oct. 19, 2018 at Morris Hospital.
Born Feb. 23, 1929 in Kirksville, MO, Arnold Lee was a son of Fernand and Lucille Castanier. He was a graduate of Kirksville High School and went on to marry Evelyn Maxine Elliott on Aug. 21, 1949.
Arnold worked for Caterpillar Tractor Company for 30 years until his retirement, and later gained employment with District 101 Rec Club, where he was employed for numerous years. Arnold was a dedicated member of First Baptist Church of Morris where he was active with the Sunshine Club, Bible Camps and Mobile Meals for many years. He enjoyed fishing and riding his bike, as well as knitting hats. In his younger years, Arnold also loved to hunt. Above all, his greatest hobby was his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and Arnold will most be remembered for his love of people and witness of the Lord.
Survivors include three children: Vicky (Marty) Odum, of Seneca and Janet (Ed) Burkhead and Mark (Sue) Castanier, both of Morris; seven grandchildren: Alby (Kelly) Odum, Sarah (Sam) Farmer, Ian (Bethany) Odum, Ethan (Kristen) Burkhead, Jesse (Laura) Burkhead, Amber (Adam) Stambaugh, and Kelsey (Matt) Panico and 21 great-grandchildren: Saydie, Tanner, Raiden, Sawyer, Logan, Eve, Silas, Jolena, Bella, Mariah (Hayden), Ethan, Noah, Zoe, Cecelia, Starla, Sunshine, Tessa, Hadleigh, Quinn, Spike and Ellie.
Arnold was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Evelyn on Jan. 2, 2018; one son. Randy in infancy; one brother, Eugene and one sister, Shirley.
Per Arnold’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded.
A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church, 1650 W. Route 6 in Morris on Monday, Oct. 22, 2018 at 11 a.m.  Pastor Steve Larson will officiate.
Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Arnold’s memory to First Baptist Church of Morris.

Cremation services and memorial arrangements have been made under the direction and care of Reeves Funeral Homes, Ltd. in Morris.
