Benjamin Hakey

BRACEVILLE—Benjamin John Hakey, 41, of Braceville, IL, passed away suddenly Sunday, Nov. 12, 2017. He was born May 22, 1976 in Pontiac, IL.  
Ben will be remembered for his heart of gold. If anyone needed something, Ben was always there. He loved taking his children, along with his niece and nephews, fishing.  He enjoyed working on cars, helping friends in need and was always very loyal to his family and friends. He always wanted to make everyone happy and will be deeply missed.
Surviving are his sons, Joseph Light and Kingston Hakey; daughter, Shannon Hakey and granddaughter, Samatha Hollis; mother and step-father, Deb and Den Hazlett; sister, Amanda (Chris) Price; nephews, Trevor Kingman and Tyson Price; niece, Rebekka Kingman; uncle and aunt, Delmer and Joan Hakey and numerous cousins.  
Preceding him in death were his father, Ronald Hakey; grandparents, Benjamin and Rozella Hakey and John and Josephine Azukas and an infant sister, Brandy Lynn Curl.             Funeral services will be at the R.W. Patterson Funeral Home and Crematory, Friday, Nov. 17, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Mark Hughey officiating. Visitation is Thursday, Nov. 16, from 4-8 p.m. Cremation rites will be accorded after services. Inurnment will be private.
