Age 82 of Diamond, formerly of Valparaiso, Indiana, Rockdale, Joliet, Peotone and Park Forest, passed away Saturday afternoon, May 20, 2017 at Sunrise of Flossmoor.
Born March 14, 1935 in Chicago, Bernice Delores was a daughter of the late Adam and Bernice (Shimkus) Petreikis. She was raised in Chicago, before moving to Joliet where she graduated from Saint Francis Academy. Bea worked for Illinois Bell Telephone as a commercial representative, and retired after more than 20 years of service. She enjoyed nature, and took pleasure in cross country skiing and playing backgammon.
Survivors include two sons: Charles E. (Laurie) Hill and David (Monica) Hill; one sister Adrienne (Ron) Burich; five grandchildren: Brian Hill, Bradley Hill, Sonja (Dan) Koontz, Zachary (Peggy) Hill and Charlie Hill, and five great grandchildren: Kamryn Koontz, Kolbi Koontz, Tyler Hill, Cameron Hill and Anna Hill, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Bernice was preceded in death by her parents; husband Bill; one son Russell; one daughter Kimberly in infancy, and one sister Eleanor Briton.
Cremation rites have been accorded, and graveside services and inurnment will be held in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, where she will be laid to rest with her late husband Bill.
