Cheryl A. McCullough

WILMINGTON—Cheryl A. McCullough, “Cookie,” 71, of Wilmington and formerly of Chicago, passed away Saturday, June 8, 2019 at Salem Village in Joliet.
Born June 18, 1947 in Chicago, Cheryl Ann was the daughter of Henry J. and Patricia Ann (Piaskowa) Cherry. She was raised and educated in Chicago, and went on to earn her bachelor of arts degree from Saint Xavier University. On Sept. 18, 1971, Cheryl married John “Jack” McCullough in St. Rita Catholic Church in Chicago, and together they lived in Oak Lawn, before moving to Wilmington in December of 1988. Cookie was an active member of the Wilmington Area Historical Society; was a life member of the Wilmington V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary, and belonged to St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Wilmington. In her free time she enjoyed antiques, as well as gardening and garage sales.
Cheryl is survived by her husband of 47 years, Jack, and preceded in death by both parents.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 11, 2019 between the hours of 3 and 8 p.m. at Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 E. Kahler Rd. in Wilmington. Funeral services will follow Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at 10 a.m. in the funeral home with Reverend Sebastian Gargol from St. Rose Parish presiding.
Burial will be in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood.
