Clyde Barrow

WILMINGTON—Clyde Barrow, 83, of Wilmington and formerly of Romeoville, IL, passed away Saturday, July 17, 2021 at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee.
Born July 20, 1937 in Alabama, Clyde Wesley was a son of George Allen and Ruby Ellen (Harris) Barrow. He was raised in Alabama and Arkansas before entering into the United States Navy, from where he honorably served from 1955-1957. On Aug. 30, 1959, Clyde married Bernadine Beakley in Summit, IL and together they made a home and raised a family together.
Clyde worked for Johnson & Johnson Corporation in Lemont until his retirement and was also a fireman and paramedic with the village of Romeoville. He will be remembered for his love to socialize. Clyde was a true people’s person who remained dedicated to his family, and cherished time spent with his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Bernadine; three children: Donna Barrow, of Joliet; Michael (Sheri) Barrow, of Braidwood and Katherin (Terry Cassidy) Barrow, of Casa Grande, AZ; seven grandchildren: Michael (Kaylie) Barrow and Brandon (Sarah) Barrow, both of Braidwood; Joseph (Ghena) Barrow, of Mesa, AZ; Abigail Barrow, Katie Barrow and William Barrow, all of Braidwood and Samuel Cassidy, of Casa Grande, AZ; three great-grandchildren: Kennedy Barrow, Michael Barrow and Jack Barrow; one brother, Morris Barrow, of Skiatook, OK; one sister, Doris (Charles) Gatlin, of Dodd City, TX and one sister-in-law, Ernestine (Rev. Bob) Watson, of Rutherford, TN, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Clyde was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, George and two sisters, Joyce and Betty.
Graveside military honors provided by the United States Navy will be held on Friday, July 23, 2021 at 2 p.m. in Braceville Gardner Cemetery, where Clyde will be laid to rest.
