Dillon in the spotlight for April

The Reed-Custer High School Senior Spotlight winner for the month of April is Jackson Dillon.

Jackson is the son of Robert and Shaleen Dillon.

During his high school career, Jackson has been involved in Madrigals, Concert Choir, Concert Band ,Marching Band, Pep Band, Fall Plays, Spring Musicals, Yearbook, Golf, Bowling, Speech, and National Honor Society. Jackson was also President of the Thespian Club, a Homework Depot tutor, an ACE winner, and a Student of the Month.

Jackson’s teachers said he’s a hard working student with a bright future ahead of him.

Mr. Gleixner says that Jackson is a model student and a great person who is always smiling and is a great leader to the younger students.”

Mrs. Bugg called Jackson gifted, both academically and musically.

“He is an honest, hard-working young man that will achieve any goal he sets. Awesome in every way,” Mrs. Bugg said.

Mrs. Rankin said Jackson is a hard worker with an infectious smile.

“He brightens the day of everyone around him,” Mrs. Rankin said.

Mrs. Valiente appreciates that Jackson has grown into a mature, thoughtful, entertaining young man, and said his “consistent wit and charm” never fails to make her smile.

Mrs. Leveille said Jackson is always helpful to his fellow students.

“Jackson is energetic and has a positive attitude,” Mrs. Leveille said. “I was so impressed after seeing him perform as one of the stars of the spring musical: Putnam County Spelling Bee. Wow, such talent! He always looks like he is enjoying himself. He even asked me as part of our biology class, if he could bring in a deer heart. He did and we were all able to dissect it.”

Mr. Mangan said he is grateful that Jackson is an extremely talented actor and singer.

“He is a leader and sets a great example to other students in choir and the drama productions,” Mr. Mangan said.

Mrs. Johnston agrees.

“Jackson is a very talented young man with a beautiful smile,” Mrs. Johnston said. “He showed real courage when he joined the speech team his Senior year, and it paid off when he qualified for State. He is a hard worker who will go far.”

As a final thought, Jackson has this advice for younger students:

“Be true to yourself and do what you love, and you’ll be living life to its fullest.”

Jackson’s future plans are to attend Illinois State University to study Acting and Theater Education.
