Dorothy Latham

ESSEX—Dorothy “Dot” Latham, (nee Lewis), 88, of Essex, passed away Friday, Feb. 15, 2019 at Symphony of Joliet in Joliet.      Born July 24, 1930 in Chicago, she was the daughter of Terry Tillman and Pearl Eva (nee Crawford) Lewis.  Dorothy was a member of the First Christian Church in Morris.  She was a very giving and loving person that enjoyed spending time with family. She also was very artistic and loved horses and cats.              Surviving are one daughter, Donna (Tony) Pena, of Arkansas; twin sister, Doris Hagberg, of Essex; grandchildren: Robert Bates, of Gardner; Charles “Dusty” Bates, of Florida and Amy Welker, of Dwight; great-grandchildren: Chelsey Welker, of Chicago;  Molly Welker, of Dwight; Zoe Hassett, of Braidwood; Maggie Bates, Robert Bates Jr. and Clare Bates, all of Morris; great-great-grandchild, Dalilah Garrett, of Morris and numerous nieces and nephews.  
Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, Clarence Latham, who she married May 2, 1964 in Bradley, IL; two brothers, Lester Lewis and Donald Lewis  and sister, Maxine Kinney.  
Visitation will be at the R.W. Patterson Funeral Home & Crematory, Monday, Feb. 25, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. with funeral services at 1 p.m.  Rev. Todd Thompson will officiate.  Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery in Joliet.  
In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association.
