Farmer’s market still accepting vendors

Fresh vegetables, jams, jellies and baked goods are just a few of the items that will be available at this year’s farmer’s market—Market Fresh on Broadway.
The first market of the season is one month away and the organizing committee continues to accept applications from vendors interested in participating in Coal City’s  market.
Gardeners with vegetables and fruit, and vendors with cut flowers, homemade soaps, eggs, pet treats, candies and more are encouraged to participate in the market that runs July-September.
Market Fresh on Broadway opens Saturday, July 22 in Coal City’s Campbell Memorial Park, 580 S. Broadway. Additional market days are Aug. 12 and 26, and Sept. 9 and 23 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Applications and information can be found on the village of Coal City website at www.coalcity-il.com and on the Market Fresh on Broadway Facebook page.
Local entertainment including vocalists, instrumentalists, dance and theater groups interested in performing during the markets are also encouraged to contact the village by phone at 815-634-8606 or by e-mail to lsula@coalcity-il.com to express interest. The market committee is also looking for yoga, tai chi and martial arts instructors who are interesting in leading classes on select market dates.
