Because of Braidwood Mayor Vehrs, the Godley Park District, all the volunteers, and hungry friends and neighbors, the fish fry on Friday, March 2, was a huge success.

The Braidwood Area Healthy Community Coalition (BAHCC) has announced that the partnership will continue with two more fish fry dates, Friday, March 16 and 23.

Vehrs’ locally famous fish fry will be served along with a new menu item for the non-fish lovers at the Godley Park District, 500 S. Kankakee St., from 4 to 7 p.m., while supplies last.

Fish dinners will include two pieces of cod for $11; shrimp dinners (five) for $12; and frog leg dinners (eight) for $14.

Combo dinners will include one piece of cod, three shrimp and four frog legs for $18.

Dinners will include cole slaw, Italian bread and butter, a choice of a baked potato or fries, and coffee or lemonade.

For non-fish lovers there will be an egg salad sandwich on Italian bread with cole slaw, a baked potato or fries, and coffee or lemonade for $4.

Carry-outs will be available.

Proceeds will benefit the drug and alcohol prevention work of the BAHCC.
