Frank Spinozzi

COAL CITY—Frank D. Spinozzi, 90, of Coal City, IL. passed away Saturday, July 22, 2017 at Morris Hospital. He was born March 11, 1927 in Chicago Heights, IL. to Dominic and Mary (Leonardo) Spinozzi .
Frank served his country honorably in the United States Army from 1944 to 1946 in World War II and he traveled all over Europe during his service. He worked for the Army Ammunition Plant Joliet Arsenal and Smith Hardware of Coal City. He loved animals and had several dogs and cats in his life. He fed the birds and the squirrels daily in his yard.
Frank is survived by his stepchildren: Mary (Mark) Magee-Huth of Channahon, IL; William (Barbara) Murphy of California, Timothy (Cheryl) Murphy of Towanda, IL and Patrick (Bonnie) Murphy of Texas; four step-grandchildren: Sean Murphy, Sarra Hinshaw, Mariko Murphy and Paige Magee and a sister, Cecile (John) DeSalvo of Bourbonnais, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 38 years, Evelyn Reed Spinozzi, in 2007.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to the Grundy County Humane Society, 120 W. 4th Street, Coal City, IL 60416.
A memorial visitation will be held Thursday, July 27, 2017 from 5-6:30 p.m. followed by a Celebration of Life service at Ferrari Funeral Services, corner of Spring Road and Ferrari Drive, in Coal City.
A private family service with military honors will be conducted at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery at a later date.
