Geraldine VanDuyne

WILMINGTON—Geraldine Carol VanDuyne, 91, of Wilmington, passed away peacefully, Saturday, Sept. 29, 2018 at Salem Village Nursing Home in Joliet.  
Born March 2, 1927 in Iowa County, WS to Jack and Gladys (nee Johnson) Watchorn.  Geraldine was a member of the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Wilmington. She loved to spend time with her family and enjoyed attending her grandchildren's sporting events. She also loved to travel and play cards, especially euchre. In her past, she wallpaper painted and catered weddings with her best friend, Alice.  
Surviving are two sons, John “Butch” (Paula) VanDuyne and Dave (Nancy) VanDuyne, both of Wilmington; two daughters, Cheri (Dave) Harding, of Bonita Springs, FL and Tina (Steve) Friddle, of Wilmington; 12 grandchildren: Lisa (Jeff) Maurer, Jenny Urban, David (Megan) VanDuyne, Wendy (Andrew) Marshall, Andy (Angie) Rink, Toby (Julie) VanDuyne, Jill (Luke) Duffy, Sam (Kelly) VanDuyne, Robyn (Brandon) Krug, John VanDuyne, Paige Friddle and Steven Friddle; numerous great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and lifelong friend, Alice Scheel, of Wilmington.  
Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, John VanDuyne, who she married Dec. 7, 1946 in Wilmington and brother, Donald Watchorn.  
Visitation will be at the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Wilmington, Saturday, Oct. 6, 2018 from 9-11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 a.m.  Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Wilmington.  
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her name may be directed to the Kuzma Care Cottage.
