Hamilton in the Spotlight for March

The Reed-Custer High School Senior Spotlight winner for the month of March is Haley Hamilton. Haley is the daughter of Joe and Lisa Hamilton.

During her high school career, Haley has been involved in FCCLA, HOSA, Basketball, Volleyball, Softball, SSA, NHS, and NTHS.

She was also an ACE winner, a Writing Center tutor, and a class officer.

Haley’s teachers said she’s a hard worker who always brings a positive attitude to class.

Mrs. Rankin says that Haley has a positive attitude in class and always gives her best effort, even when it’s difficult.

Mrs. Sukley believes that Haley is a leader both on the field and in the classroom.

“She is always the first to offer help to any one of her classmates and teammates, and her infectious personality makes her someone worth wanting to be around,” Mrs. Sukley said.

Mrs. Leveille agreed that Haley works well with others and has a pleasant disposition.

“She is friendly and has a positive attitude. She is always willing to help others out in class,” Mrs. Leveille said.

Mr. Klein said Haley is one of the most selfless people he has ever met.

“She always put her team ahead of her own personal goals,” Mr. Klein said. “Haley set the bar as high as it could possibly be set for all future Comet girls basketball players in terms of being a great teammate.”

Mrs. Van Duyne said Haley always has a positive attitude whether she was on the court or not, and always gives it her all, something the younger players look up to.

Mrs. Benoit says that Haley is a great student because she wants to learn material.

“She keeps her future goals in the back of her mind so she can learn as much as possible for her next step in life,” Mrs. Benoit said. “Since she takes challenging classes, she manages her time to ensure that her homework is turned in on time; she studies for her tests and her grades show that she puts in the effort and time. Haley has a positive attitude and is eager to help team members when questions arise. She is not afraid to ask her teacher questions for clarification to make sure she ‘gets it’.”

Mrs. Bugg believes that Haley “will rule the world someday,” calling her reliable, compassionate and considerate, and one of the most diligent students in the whole school.

Mrs. Valiente called Haley wise beyond her years.

“Her compassion for others continues to astound me,” Mrs. Valiente said. “Most importantly, her mom makes the best fudge ever, and I am forever grateful to Haley for always sharing in this wealth.”

Mrs. Johnston called Haley a sweetheart who always has a smile on her face.

“She is truly a team player—even if she isn’t the star she will work hard and be her best at all times both in the classroom and on the court,” Mrs. Johnston said.

Ms. Faletti called Haley “an absolute joy to have in class,” and a diligent worker and always has a positive attitude, which contribute to her success as a student.

Ms. Baron said Haley is a dedicated and exceptionally creative student who isn’t afraid of a challenge.

“She’s kind hearted and a team player in class, on the court, and with peers,” Ms. Baron said. “Haley has a work ethic that makes her a stand-out no matter the task.”

As a final thought, Haley’s advice to younger students is, “Senioritis is a real thing! Get involved in as many school activities as you can because eventually it will all come to an end. Also, do not procrastinate.”

Haley’s future plans are to attend JJC to study nursing. After two years, she will transfer to St. Francis in hopes of becoming a labor and delivery nurse.

On behalf of the teachers and staff at RCHS, congratulations Haley Hamilton, the March winner of the Senior Spotlight.
