ISP seeks help identifying body of woman found in Kankakee River

    The Illinois State Police is seeking the public's assistance to help identify the young woman whose body was recovered from the Kankakee River off of the 29000 block of North Readman Lane in Wilmington on Saturday, July 8.
    The woman is described as a light-skinned female in her late teens to early 20s, approximately 5 feet tall, weighing 102 pounds. She had red and brown hair, brown eyes, two piercings in her right ear and one piercing in the left ear.  
    She was clothed in a black, one-piece, Forever 21 bodysuit with a three-quarter chest zipper, size small.

    The body of the unidentified woman was discovered by a homeowner near the rear of the residence, who contacted police at approximately 11:20 a.m.     The woman was pronounced dead at the shoreline at 2:45 p.m. An autopsy conducted Monday did not reveal a conclusive cause of death, according to the office of Will County Coroner Patrick K. O’Neil.
    The name of the victim is being withheld pending positive identification and notification of the woman’s next of kin.
    The final cause and manner of death will be determined at a later date pending police and toxicological reports.
