Jean Pickett

JOLIET—Jean Pickett, 73, of Joliet, passed away Monday, May 15, 2017 at her home.
Born May 18, 1943 in Attica, IN, Dorothy Jean was a daughter of Charles and Lucille (nee Brimbury) Redman. She was raised and educated in Attica, and on June 21, 1959, she married Joe Pickett. Jean and Joe would relocate to Joliet for work, and it is where they would raise their family. She was employed for Holiday Inn in Joliet as a hostess, and she enjoyed her bowling league at the Stone City VFW Hall and her bingo scratch-off lottery tickets.
Survivors include her four children: Cindy (Dave) Parks of Bradenburg, KY; Donna Pickett of Jacksonville, FL; Chuck (Cori) Pickett of Joliet and Jeff (Kristi) Pickett of Channahon; 9 grandchildren: Gary, Matthew, Kelly, Karissa, Krystal, Nichole, April, Dylan and Dalton; numerous great-grandchildren, three sisters: Judy Wells, Patty Cole and Nancy Redman, all of Indiana; two brothers-in-law, Harold (Sherry) Minnick of Indiana and Melvin (Sue) Pickett of Colorado, and several nieces and nephews.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Joe Pickett on January 7, 2013; her mother and father-in-law, one grandson, Casey Koesling; one brother, Sonny (Mary) Redman; one sister, Carrie (Gayle) Webb and brothers-in-law, Malcom Wells and Bill Cole.
Per Jean’s wishes, cremation rites are being accorded, and a private family memorial is being planned at a later date.
