Jerry Giasson

WILMINGTON—Jerry Giasson, 76, of Wilmington, passed away Sept. 21, 2019 at Ocala Oaks Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Ocala, FL.
Born May 26, 1943 in Kankakee, Jerry Lee was a son of George J. and Betty (Harvey) Giasson. He worked for Bennett Industries in Peotone, and was a former member of the Wilmington Moose Lodge #241. One of faith, Jerry throughout the years attended First Baptist Church in Wilmington, Christian Faith Center in Wilmington and the First United Methodist Church of Braceville. In his free time, he enjoyed music, singing karaoke and dancing. Jerry also took pleasure in playing bingo, bowling, skating and shooting pool.
Survivors include his wife, JoAnn (nee Crawford); three daughters: Jennifer Niles (Ismael Roldan), of Streator; Rebecca (James) Minton, of Washburn, IL and Macie (Jesus) Nieves, of Braceville; nine grandchildren: Darrell Niles, Alicia Niles, Mariaelena Roldan, James Minton Jr., Kristin Minton, Heather Minton, Shane Giasson, Jesus Adam Nieves and Jowana Nieves; several great-grandchildren, one brother, Daniel (Joey) Giasson, of Cabery, IL; one sister, Peggy Sue (Ed) Munday, of Belleview, FL; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister, Judy Giasson.
Cremation rites were accorded in Florida.
The family will receive friends for a memorial visitation at Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 E. Kahler Rd. in Wilmington on Sunday, Oct. 6, 2019 from 12 p.m. until the time of memorial service at 3 p.m.
