Jewell wins VOD essay contest

The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #5422 and its Auxiliary congratulate Wilmington High School student Ren Jewell for entering and receiving first place in the Voice of Democracy essay contest.

Since 1942 the Voice of Democracy has been the Veterans of Foreign Wars premier scholarship program.

Every year nearly 50,000 high school students across the United States, compete for more than $2 million in scholarships and incentives. Students enter by writing and recording an audio essay on an annual patriotic theme.

The theme for next year will be available by April 2022 on the VFW website, VFW.org, under scholarships. All students of high school age even in you are home schooled.
