John Fredendall, Jr.

WILMINGTON— John “Jack” Fredendall, Jr., 73, of Wilmington, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at AMITA St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet.
Born June 29, 1947 in Joliet, John Frederick, Jr. was a son of John, Sr. and Elsie (Wagner) Fredendall. He was raised in Lockport; graduated from Lockport Township High School with the Class of 1965 and went on to honorably serve in the United States Army during Vietnam. On Oct. 29, 1966, Jack married Renee Woock in Lockport, and together they made their home and raised their son. He worked as an electrician and retired from Exxon Mobil as an Electrician Supervisor following 26 years of service.
Jack was a hard worker and truly a ‘Jack of all trades’. He enjoyed woodworking, was a master on the lathe, creating many bowls and vases, which are now heirlooms. Jack loved the outdoors and took great pleasure in hiking, camping and kayaking. He was one who wore his heart on his sleeve, and will most be remembered as someone who would help absolutely anyone who needed help.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Renee; one son John F. “Jeff” Fredendall, III and two brothers-in-law, Phil (Betty) Woock of Lockport and Tom (Karen) Woock of Cook, MN.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister, Nancy Johnson.
