Joyce Scov

Wilmington- Joyce “Mamaw” Skov (nee Moore), 78, of Wilmington, passed away peacefully Thursday, Oct. 24, 2019 surrounded by love after a courageous battle with cancer.
Joyce was born Dec. 18, 1940, the daughter of Elmer Moore and Lillian Lorian. She was a lifelong resident of Wilmington. She adored her grandchildren and spent most of her time with them and her great-grandchildren. She was their biggest fan and never missed a sporting event or activity that they were involved in or wanted to attend. She even saved up to take all of her grandchildren on a Disney vacation which was her dream.
After working for many years, she stayed home and began watching and caring for kids. Kids brought her so much joy and she loved them.
Survivors include her three children, 10 grandchildren: J.P., Jimmy (Samantha), Carrielle, Chanelle (Nate), Ryan, Carl, Luke, Greg Jr. (Hayley), Tara (Matt) and Sara (Glennden); 21 great-grandchildren: Haley, Brandon, Damian, Jordan, Jon, Mehki, Ava, Eli, Sierra, Jared, Arianna, Grace, Gunner, Keely, Scotland, Colin, Ryan, Nolan, Madden, Ali and Drew and one great-great-grandson, Isahia; three sisters: Alberta, Judy and Alma and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends who adored her.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Lillian; siblings: Don, Bill, Terry Dee and Shirley; her daughter, Carrie Lynn; a very special boy, Jeremy Tenant, who she babysat for years and loved as her own; Bobby, Chuck, Melanie and recent friends and her Monkey, Jonie.
A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, Nov. 3, 2019, 2 p.m. at Christain Faith Center, 1800 S. Water St. in Wilmington.
