Juanita Reavis

WILMINGTON—Juanita Jane (Allott) Reavis, 93, of Wilmington, passed away Sunday, Oct. 14, 2018 at Beecher Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born June 18, 1925 in Wilmington, Juanita Jane was a daughter of Albert Sr. and Millie (Joyner) Allott. She was raised and educated in Wilmington and graduated from Wilmington High School with the class of 1943. Juanita went onto Cosmetology school and worked as a beautician for Truly Yours Beauty Nook in downtown Wilmington for many years. On Oct. 6, 1957 Juanita married Robert Newton Reavis in Chillicothe, IL and together they made their home and raised a family in Wilmington.
Juanita was a devoted member of the First United Methodist Church in Wilmington. Along with being a beautician she also worked as a lunch lady at Booth Central School. In her free time she enjoyed reading, cooking and knitting. Juanita's favorite times were always spent with her family.
Survivors include her children: Dennis (Grace) Reavis, of Wilmington and GayleAnn Reavis, of Crescent City; grandchildren: Gregory (Kayla) Reavis, of Troy, MO and Daphne Reavis (Dustin Hughes), of Springfield; great-granddaughter, Kendall Reavis; sister-in-law, Delores Allott, of Chillicothe and numerous nieces and nephews including Terry (Dyna) Martin, of Texas and Sandy (Dick) Wessell, of Oregon.
Juanita was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Robert on Dec. 7, 2010; brothers: Albert Allott Jr., Leroy Joyner Allott, Thomas Harold Martin and Lowell Martin and sisters, Bonnie Allott and Mabel Martin Scivally.
Cremation rites have been accorded and a memorial service will be Saturday, June 15, 2019, at the First United Methodist Church, 401 E. Kahler Rd., in Wilmington, at 2 p.m.
Inurnment will follow on Monday, June 17, 2019 at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, 20953 W. Hoff Rd., in Wilmington at 10 a.m. Those who wish to attend the committal services are encouraged to arrive at the cemetery by 9:45 a.m.
