Kathleen Atwood

GODLEY— Kathleen G. Atwood, 58, of Godley, IL passed away on Sunday May 2, 2021 at Morris Hospital in Morris, IL.
Kathleen was born in St Joseph Hospital Joliet, IL on Jan. 10, 1963, a daughter of Ronald Sr. and Mary Maly. She was married to Daniel Atwood on May 1, 1992 at Pontiac Illinois Courthouse.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Dwight for over 20 years were she actively served the Lord. She graduated high school from Reed Custer high school class of 1981 most creative. She graduated with a Culinary Arts Degree from Joliet Jr College. She enjoyed baking, hiking, riding her bike and spending time with family. She was an amazing woman who would help anyone and everyone. She loved her family, friends especially her grandchildren but, most of all she loved the Lord. She loved to serve at her church on Wednesday nights in Kings Kids and Football Camp every year, as well as serving at Kite River Revival Camp Grounds. She worked as a Cook at Heritage Woods of Dwight where she was able to use her passion for baking and cooking. She was an amazing daughter, wife, mom and grandma. This is not a goodbye but a see you again in heaven one day.
She is survived by her mother, Mary Maly and brother Charles Maly, husband Daniel Atwood, daughter Monica husband Tony Hughes, daughter Crystal husband Micah Strief, son Mark wife Mandie Stanislaus, daughter Amanda husband Caleb Granby, son Arron wife Nikki Atwood and grandchildren Emily, Aiden, Owen, Elliot, Beatrice, Adley, Asher, Joseph, Judson, and one on the way in Dec.
Kathleen was preceded in death by her Father Ronald Maly Sr. and her brother Ronald Maly Jr.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at the First Baptist Church in Dwight with Rev. Daniel Woodward officiating. A visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. also at the Church on Monday, May 10, 2021. Burial will follow the services at Oakwood Cemetery Wilmington. Memorial contributions in her name may be made to the charity of the donor's choice or First Baptist Church of Dwight, IL. Hager Memorial Home in Dwight is handling the arrangements.
