Lady Comets pick up another win

    Reed-Custer’s varsity softball team kept their fast start to the season going, picking up their second shutout win in a row.
    They defeated Clifton Central last Tuesday, 11-0 through five innings, improving to 2-0.
    Kenna Wilkey continued to highlight her senior season, earning her second no-hitter in two games, as she pitched all five frames.
    She finished with 11 strikeouts and one walk, while allowing no hits or runs.
    As for Reed-Custer’s offense, they got off to a quick start, recording four runs in the first inning, and added seven more in the fourth to pick up their 11 on the day.
    Wilkey was a threat from the plate as well, going 2-for-3 with a double and single. She drove in two RBIs and scored one run.
    Antoinette Hill was perfect at the plate, going 3-for-3, all singles, driving in two RBIs and scoring two runs.
    Also adding hits on the day were Michelle Mack, Haley Mazon, Haley Hamilton and Val Guzman.
    Mack, Guzman and Emily Wolf (2) also added sacrificial hits in the game.    
    Georgia Votta (2), Mack, Hannah Fordonski, Grace Colclasure, Laney Jarchow, Hamilton and Guzman also added runs scored, while Guzman led the team with three RBIs total.
