Lee O. Sexton

CHANNAHON—Lee O. Sexton, of Channahon, passed away peacefully on Oct. 18, 2018 surrounded by his family  at Presence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet.
He was born on Sept. 18, 1948 in Christopher, IL to Lee C. and Marylou (nee Burns) Sexton. Lee was a graduate of Lockport High School class of 1968. Shortly after graduation he joined the United States Navy proudly serving his country from 1968 to 1972.  He was wed to Lana Vineyard on June 16, 1973 and has been a long time resident of Channahon.
Lee was a faithful member of Families of Faith Church, Channahon, formerly known as First Baptist Church. He retired from Mobil-Exxon Mobil after many years of serving in the warehouse and on the fire brigade. He was also a Will County Auxiliary Deputy, a member of the Coachman Car Club and the Morris Rod and Gun Club. Lee was a motorcycle enthusiast and was the proud owner of a 105th Anniversary Harley.
Surviving are his beloved wife of 45 years, Lana (nee Vineyard) Sexton; children, Michelle Lee (Dan) Harding and Mindy (James) Carver; grandchildren: Ashley, Danny and Abby Harding and he was “Papa” of Samantha Lee and Evan Carver; nephews: Christopher Lee (Carrie) King, Mark King and Tim Sexton; great-nephews: Christian and Sebastian King and Jacob and Jonathan King; numerous cousins and many friends.
Lee was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Catherine (the late Delbert) King; two brothers, Tom Sexton and Dale Sexton as well as many aunts and uncles.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Oct. 26, 2018, 11 a.m. at The Maple Funeral Home, 24300 W. Ford Rd, Channahon. Interment will be at Willard Grove Cemetery in Channahon. Visitation will be Thursday, Oct. 25, 2018 from 4- 8 p.m.
