Linda L Robertson

WILMINGTON-Linda L. Robertson, 77, of Wilmington, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2017, while in the care of family in Cary, IL
Born Nov. 23, 1929, in Hammond, IN, Linda was the daughter of Mildred and Nelson Guilfoyle. She grew up in Lockport and Elwood area before marrying Noel Robertson and raising their two sons and a daughter in Wilmington. The Robertson family operated the Island City Mushroom Farm and The General Store for seven years at the corner of Route 129 and Strip Mine Road. Linda and Noel lived in Texas and California where Linda became the international shipping and receiving manager for Survival Systems International. They retired to Kimberling City, MO where they lived until Noel's death on April 2, 2011. Shortly thereafter Linda moved back to Wilmington.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, husband and her eldest son Daniel.
Survivors include son Terry (Suzee) of Escondido, CA; daughter Kelly Lewandowski of Wilmington; daughter in-law Paula; a sister Loretta (late Victor) Pearson of Cary; a brother Lawrence of Elwood; brothers in-law Neil (Linda) Robertson of Wilmington; Ned (Diane) Robertson of Manteno; the late Nigel (Theresa) Robertson of Wilmington; a sisters in-law Nikki (late Richard) Deuschle of Kankakee and the late Nancy Egizio of Wilmington; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Linda loved to cook for her family and create ceramics. She enjoyed many friendships made in Missouri and her neighbors at the Stough Group in Wilmington.
Per Linda's wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. Linda's ashes will be laid to rest with her late husband Noel, at the Abraham Lincoln National Veterans Cemetery in Elwood, followed by a family gathering. She was loved and will be missed by many.
