Sales have started and are going strong for the Braidwood Lions Club, selling off this year's crop of fabulous Christmas trees.

Sales started on Black Friday to a large crowd, hosting one of the busiest weekends the club has seen for tree sales in the 25+ years of the event. The Lions Christmas tree stand will be open Monday through Friday, from noon until 7 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m.

The Lions will sell Balsam and Fraser Fir trees, ranging in height from five to nine feet, for $50. Scotch Pine trees ranging in height from four to seven feet will cost $35.

The Lions will also have wreaths for $10 to $25, grave pillows for $22 to $32, and grave blankets for $60.

The Lions Club tree sales are located in the parking lot at Whitmore Ace Hardware, and will continue until supplies run out. All the proceeds from the annual fundraiser benefit our club’s sight and sound humanitarian services, which are provided to those in need who reside within the club’s service area of Braidwood, Godley or Shadow Lakes.

The Lions also put up this year’s Christmas decorations on Main Street, Comet Drive, Front Street and Kennedy Road. This is the 45th year that the Lions have decorated Bradiwood’s main roads.
