McTeacher’s Night had a successful outcome

Coal City High School held its first annual McTeacher's Night at the Coal City McDonald's on Tuesday, Sept. 12.
A McTeacher's Night is organized to help raise money for local schools by having teachers work at McDonald's and then giving a percentage of the night's sales to the local school.
On Tuesday, the atmosphere at the Coal City McDonalds restaurant was nothing short of spectacular. The teachers were excited to serve freshly prepared meals to students and their families to raise money for Coal City High School. The students and families were excited to see their teachers behind the counter and throughout the restaurant.
Fourteen teachers from Coal City High School worked the event, their  jobs included greeting guests, cleaning the lobby, working the front counter, serving drinks, Ice Cream, drive-thru, and selling pies while dressed in a pie costume. All which were executed with great enthusiasm and huge smiles on everyone's faces.
Assistant principal Jennifer Kenney, and teachers Jack Micetich and Kara Erb all had a blast taking turns in the pie costume selling pies for donations to their school families.
There was no shortage of entertainment for the evening. The Coal City pom squad started off the night with a few routines and were followed by the Coal City cheer team, band, color guard and Footnotes.
For a little extra  entertainment Math teacher Matt Leman was making balloon creations for the families.
Kenney, was responsible for organizing the entire event and getting together all who worked the event.
Coal City High School raised an outstanding $1,010. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to childhood cancer research in honor of Megan Bugg, the school is also donating to hurricane relief, and the remainder of the funds raised will be used toward the PBS program.
The fundraiser night was made possible by Coal City McDonald’s owner/operator Marvin Spence.
