Peggy L. Souders

WILMINGTON—Peggy L. Souders, 84, of Wilmington, passed away Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at her home.
Born April 26, 1932 in Deland, IL, Peggy Lou was a daughter of William and Ethel Maden. She was raised and educated in Deland, and on July 23, 1949 she married Leon Souders in Deland. Together, Peggy and Leon made their home in Wilmington, where she attended 1st Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending her time outdoors, and took pleasure in feeding the birds and planting flowers. Peggy was a wonderful mother and homemaker whose family was her highest priority and greatest joy.
Survivors include her four children: Vicki (Todd) Martin of Phoenix, AZ; Patty (Jay) Loisel of Gilbert, AZ; Jim (Barb) Souders of Joliet and Sandi (Mike) Nugent of Wilmington; seven grandchildren: Michelle (Manny) Cuellar of Kansas City, MO; Greg (Stefanie) Martin and Lindsay (Joe) Doucett, both of Phoenix, AZ; Brittany (Kyle) Bohannon of Scottsdale, AZ; Samantha Henson of Kemp, TX; Courtney Souders of Joliet and Tiffany Nugent of Wilmington; four great-grandchildren: Kenadie and Quinn Bohannon of Scottsdale, AZ; Henry Doucett of Phoenix, AZ and Cadence Henson of Kemp, TX; one sister:, Sally Jo (Bill) Gillespie; one brother-in-law, Ronald Eades; several cousins, including Cheri (Bob) Dransfeldt and numerous nieces and nephews.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Leon; two sisters: Patsy (Gail) Kingsboro and Suzie Eades and one brother, Bill (Louie) Maden.
Per Peggy’s wishes, cremation rites were accorded and private family services were held. Burial will be in Deland Cemetery at a later date.

Cremation services and arrangements have been made under the direction and care of Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 E. Kahler Rd. in Wilmington.
