Peggy Newell

PARIS, IL—Peggy Lee Newell, 72, of Paris, IL, formerly of Morris, passed away Sunday, Jan. 19, 2020, at her residence.
She was born June 15, 1947, in Tamaha, OK, the daughter of Abby and Lenora (Reynolds) Bryant. Peggy enjoyed crocheting and shopping and loved spending time with her family.
Survivors include two children, Tina (Jay) Halloran, of Paris and Christy Rinehart, of Miller, MO; three brothers: Jonny Bryant, of Keota, OK; Jimmy Bryant, of Prior, OK and Jeff Bryant, of Keota; three sisters: Marilyn Burson, of Atlanta, GA and Pam Seehaufer and Judy Toller, both of Braidwood; a daughter-in-law, Jeannie McPherson, of Marseilles; seven grandchildren: Kristin (John) Curry, Nikki Flowers, Dakota (Marissa) Hovis, Austin Newell, Alexis (Harry) Newell, Colt (Teyah) Rinehart and Amanda Dena;12 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Jerry Roofener; two brothers, Glen and Jerry Bryant, and a sister, Jo Ellen Tonkovich.

A memorial service celebrating her life will be conducted at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2020, at Templeton Funeral Home, 600 E. Court St., Paris, IL. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will be private in Oklahoma at a later date.
