Rose Alberico

WILMINGTON—Rose Marie Alberico (nee Crutchfield), 84, of Wilmington, passed away Thursday, Jan. 4, 2018 at Silverado Orchard Park Memory Care Community in Morton Grove.
Born Jan. 25, 1933 in Salem, IL, Rose Marie was a daughter of Alva Nathan and Mildred June (Kagy) Crutchfield. She was raised in Wilmington and graduated from Wilmington High School with the class of 1951. Following high school, Rose went to work for the Joliet Arsenal, and it was there that she met Henry James Alberico. On Sept. 26, 1953, Rose married Hank in the Methodist Church in Wilmington, and together they raised their family and made their home in Wilmington. Rose later gained employment with Johnson & Johnson Personal Products, from where she retired. She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Wilmington, and enjoyed ceramics, cooking, gardening and sewing. Rose was family focused, and her grandchildren were her greatest joy.
Survivors include her daughter, Teri Madl, of Evanston and son, Henry James Jr. “Jim” (Theresa) Alberico, of Wilmington; seven grandchildren: Jason (Toni) Madl, of Elk Grove Village; Kate Madl, of Chicago; Jeff Madl, of Austin, TX; Allison Madl (Zack Smith), of Chicago; Chris Alberico (Jordan Wilson), Katie Alberico and Liz Alberico, all of Wilmington; three great-grandchildren: Mason Henry Madl, Sofia Smith and Henry James Alberico; one sister, Ruth (the late Don) Gresham, of Wilmington; one brother, Bob (Becky) Crutchfield, of St. Charles and numerous nieces and nephews.
Rose was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Henry James “Hank” Alberico Sr. (2013);  granddaughter, Emalie Madl (1991); brothers: Basil (Ann) Crutchfield, Bill (Clarie) Crutchfield and Barney (Leanna) Crutchfield, and one sister, Rita Mae Crutchfield in infancy.
Visitation and video tribute will be at the First United Methodist Church, 401 E. Kahler Rd. in Wilmington on Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2018 between the hours of 4 and 8 p.m. Funeral services will follow Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2018 at 10 a.m. in the church with Reverend Harriette Cross officiating.
Burial will be in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, where Rose will be laid to rest with her late husband, Hank.
Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Rose’s memory to the First United Methodist Church in Wilmington or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
