Rose Schure

MANSFIELD— Rose M. Schure, age 87, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 6, 2021, at the home of her daughter, Jean, in Mansfield, IL. She was born in Joliet on August 14, 1933 to Arthur J. and Rose (nee Frlanich) Weese. She was raised and educated in Joliet and attended Sheridan and Farragut Schools, and was a graduate of Joliet Township High School. Rose married Willfred A. Schure on December 29, 1951 at First Lutheran Church in Joliet where she continued to be an active member. Rose was the owner/operator of Rose's Ceramic Shop, Bill's Sandwich Shop, both in Braidwood, and 4 Sister's Café in Joliet. She was a cook at Downers Grove Sportsman's Club, ran the concession stands for little league and Braidwood Recreation, was a member of the Lioness Club in Braidwood. She loved ceramics, going to casinos and being with family and friends. She really enjoyed her special time with her “babysitters”, her great-grandkids, Ricky and Samantha.
Rose is survived by her three daughters, Margaret (Don) Lutes of Coal City, Jean (the late Ricky) Auteberry of Mansfield, IL and Michelle (Eb) Czok of Braidwood; numerous grandchildren, great- grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ardis Liccardi and Linda (Ron) Hainline; three brothers, Arthur (Sue) Weese, Bernard (Denise) Meyer and Richard Meyer; and son-in-law, Jim Rogers. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Willfred A. Schure; one daughter, Martha Rogers; her parents; two sisters, Mary Kovell and Helen Barto; and her stepfather, Arthur Meyer.
Visitation for Rose M. Schure will be held on Tuesday, April 13, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m., at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd.), Joliet. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
