One day before colder, wet weather settled in to the area, the annual Scarecrow Fest gave folks a chance to enjoy the sunshine and an afternoon of fun.

The event took place at Old Smokey City Park on Saturday, Oct. 21. Visitors enjoyed a pumpkin patch, games, hayrack rides, music, food, and a chili cook-off contest.

The event is sponsored each fall by the city of Braidwood, with help from the Braidwood Park District and other local civic organizations.

Photos from this year's event can be found in this week's edition of the Braidwood Journal.
