Voters can cast early ballot

Early voting and vote by mail for the April 4 consolidated election is underway.
    Early voting for all county precincts takes place in the office of the Grundy County Clerk and Recorder located at the Grundy County Courthouse, 111 E. Washington St., Morris.
    The clerk’s office is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Additionally, the office will be open for early voting on Saturday, April 1 from 9 a.m. to noon.
    Voters who want to a cast a vote by mail ballot for the consolidated election must contact the clerk’s office by phone or e-mail at elections@grundyco.org to obtain the necessary application, the form can also be downloaded from the clerk’s website at www.grundyco.org.
    No excuse is needed to vote by mail. Voters are encouraged to apply as early as possible to ensure they receive their ballot in time to vote and return it to the clerk. Ballots must be postmarked no later than election day, April 4, and received in the county clerk’s office within 14 days after the election. The last day the clerk will mail ballots out is Thursday, March 30.
