William H. Holman

William H. Holman, 77, passed away April 28, 2020 at Metro-Manor Housing of Denver, CO. He was born Dec. 17, 1942 to Mary Ginter and Ben Holman Sr. in Coshocton, OH.
Billy was a Wilmington High School Alum, a painter by trade and a US Army Veteran serving at Fort Benning, GA and Seoul Korea where he was a Sharp Shooter Scout in the Big Red One Infantry. When he returned home from the military he got his first cowboy job in Cheyenne, WY at Warren Livestock Kings Ranch and was sheep herder in Highlands of Montana, Idaho and Oregon. Billy loved the Rocky Mountains and he was at peace on the open range with his horse, dog and saddle. Billy missed his old pals Melvin Palmer and Terry Frost of Rest Haven, IL. Billy is survived by a sister, Sandra Lee (Holman) Bennett, of Douglas, WY and her husband, Steve and children, Steve Bennett and Tammy (Bennett) Herrera and children, Ricky and Amber Herrera, all of Douglas, WY; a brother, Ben Holman Jr. and his wife Rinnea, of Diamond and their children, Ben (Tris), of Oswego; Gordon (Kim), of Braidwood and Van (Ali), of Wilmington and grandchildren: Trevor, Zoie and Delaney, of Oswego and Madilyn, Cameron and Cooper, of Wilmington.
He was preceded in death by his parents, the love of his life, Charlene, who passed away at the same manor house and his step-brother, Richard Lee Holman (Margaret), of New York City.
Military honors will be held at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood at a later date.
