It’s been less than three months since the new administration took office in the city of Braidwood, but in that time elected officials have been taking steps to significantly reduce the budget deficit.
When the fiscal year 2018 audit was released, the city reported a $2.19 million deficit. It’s not clear if the deficit had gotten better or worse since the 2018 fiscal year ended on April 30, 2018, but since the new administration has come in, the city has cut $700,000 in expenditures from the current year’s budget.
