The water tower located in the center of Coal City is set to come down in the new year.
After sitting on the village’s capital projects list for several years village trustees directed that the project move forward and approved its engineer, Chamlin and Associates, to provide the necessary engineering and prepare the required bid documents.
“The removal of this tower will allow the system to build additional elevated tank capacity due to the total tower height available once the current tower is removed,” said village administrator Matt Fritz.
