It will take $37.8 million to run the Unit 1 School District through fiscal year 2023.
That’s how much the Board of Education approved Sept. 7, a 2.54% increase in expenses over what was presented in the tentative budget released back in July.
“Some things have fallen between those two time frames. Most of it has to do with projects,” said Jason Smith, the district’s chief school business official.
When presenting the tentative spending plan this summer, Smith made it clear the figures presented would change before the Board approved the final budget.
