Neva Weymer, beloved mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, warmth, and cherished memories. Neva was the devoted mother of three children: Elizabeth, George, and Paul, who adored her dearly. She was the loving wife of the late George Joseph Weymer, with whom she shared many happy years. Neva was also a proud grandmother to her four grandchildren: Samantha, James, Timothy and Grace Harvey, who brought her immense joy and love.

COAL CITY— Jeff “Bodean” Mills, 58 of Coal City, and formerly of Wilmington, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2024 at his home.
Born on May 23, 1966, in Joliet, Jeffrey is a son of Bonnie (nee Cooling) and the late Thomas Kane Mills. He grew up in Wilmington, where he received his education and graduated from Wilmington High School with the Class of 1985. Bodean began his career with Laborers Local #75 at Long Concrete in Wilmington and later transitioned to Brieser Construction, ultimately working with JM Electric.

WILMINGTON— Nancy M. Calhoun, 87 and a lifelong resident of Wilmington, passed away Monday, Sept. 9, 2024 at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee.
Born July 30, 1937 at home in Wilmington, Nancy Mae was a daughter of Golden and Avia (Mansfield) Howard. She was raised and educated in Wilmington and attended the Wilmington Public Schools. On Aug. 15, 1953, Nancy married Albert Louis Calhoun in Joliet and together they made a home and raised their family.

PLAINFIELD—Cheryl L. Myers, 62, and a lifelong resident of Plainfield, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 8, 2024 at Lightways Hospice Home in Joliet.
Born on Nov. 11, 1961, in Joliet, Cheryl was the daughter of Richard Laverne and Dixie Florence (McCulley) Myers. Raised in Plainfield, Cheryl graduated from Plainfield High School with the class of 1979, where she began to form the deep roots that kept her connected to the community throughout her life.

MORRIS—Diana Lynn Bremer, 72, of Morris, passed away peacefully on Monday, Sept. 9, 2024, at Arcadia Care of Bloomington.
Born in Christopher, IL she was the daughter of the late Rob ert and Mary (King) Hargis. Diana was raised and educated in the Chicago area. She worked for the former Standard Bank in Morris for many years before retiring while it was First Midwest Bank, Now Old National. She enjoyed gardening, the outdoors, and fishing with her husband from time to time.
Diana is survived by her loving husband, Carl; daughter, Dawn (William) Miller and family.

WILMINGTON—Jerry L. Weldin, 74, of Wilmington, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2024 at the Lightways Hospice Home in Joliet.
Born Feb. 24, 1950 in McLeansboro, IL, Jerry Lee was a son of Emory and Lorene (Kelley) Weldin. He was raised in Southern Illinois, where he attended a one room schoolhouse until his family relocated to the Joliet area. Jerry graduated from Lincolnway High School with the class of 1968, and he would gain employment with the Exxon Mobil Joliet Refinery where he worked for over 25 years until he retired.

DIAMOND—June B. Cora, 86, of Diamond, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Sept. 8, 2024 at the ARC of Dwight.
Born on June 12, 1938, in Allegan County, MI, June Barbara was a daughter of Joseph and Anna (Scharf) Levy. She was raised in Chicago and proudly graduated from William Jones Commercial High School with the class of 1957. June went on to earn her CNA certification at Joliet Junior College and dedicated many years to her work at St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet, retiring in 2003 as a Telemetry Tech.

GODLEY—Dean W. Novy Sr., 62, of Godley, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 8, 2024 at his home.
Born on Feb. 16, 1962 in Joliet, he was the son of Daniel and Donna Rae (nee Davis) Novy. Dean was formerly employed at Cardinal Transport as a driver and mechanic. He was known to be a “Jack of All Trades.” He was always willing to help family and friends fix anything. He loved riding motorcycles, building models, going to concerts and movies, and especially spending time with family and grandkids.

COAL CITY—Edward Valdez Sr., “Eddie,” 79, of Coal City, and formerly of Plainfield, passed away Saturday, Sept. 7, 2024 at Arcadia Care in Morris.
Born April 7, 1945 in Mercedes, TX, Eduardo was a son of Enrique and Martha Consuelo (Ramat) Valdez. He was raised in Texas and spent his career working for Allied Van Lines in mix state transportation.
