BRAIDWOOD—William Bernard Getz, 87, of Braidwood, passed away Thursday, May 27, 2021.
Born July 25, 1933 in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of William and Louise (nee Korte) Goetz. He served in the United States Air Force as a military police officer from 1952-1956. He married Regina Anne Snelius on August 1, 1974 in Chicago.

DWIGHT— Tamara “Tammy” Pulver, 52, passed away on May 19, 2021, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born Oct. 28, 1968, in Bloomington, Il, to parents Keith and Rosemary (Simpson) Miller. She graduated from Dwight Township High School with the class of 1986. In 1991, she received her B.S. in Pharmacy from Purdue University where she was a member of Rho Chi honor society, Kappa Epsilon professional fraternity and Shoemaker Cooperative Housing. While at Purdue, Tammy made lifelong friends and met her husband Robert Pulver while in pharmacy school.

MOLINE— Edmund J. O’Connor, 97, of Moline, formerly of Wilmington, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, May 25, with his spouse and family at his side. Eldest of three, Edmund was born in rural Elwood to Leo J. and Marie R. (Reiter) O’Connor on June 4, 1923. Ed grew up helping run the family farm under horsepower, and tinkering with machinery from an early age, eventually becoming a skillful mechanic and masterful welder. He attended Gurney school house a mile west of the family farm, then Joliet Catholic High School, graduating class of 1940.

WILMINGTON— Carol Jean Rieck, 67, of Wilmington. The family of Carol Jean Rieck is saddened to announce the sudden death of their wife, mom, nana and sister on Sunday evening, May 23, 2021. Born Dec. 2, 1953 in Hinsdale, IL, Carol Jean was a daughter of David William and Dorothy Jean (Love) King. She attended Gower Grammar School in Clarendon Hills before transferring to the Henry H. Nash Elementary School in Chicago. She began her high school years at Austin High School before moving with her family, where she went on to graduate from Hinsdale Central with the Class of 1971.

Herbert L. Tatroe

BRAIDWOOD— Herbert L. Tatroe, 97, of Braidwood, passed away peacefully Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at his home, surrounded by those who loved him. Born May 14, 1924 in Joliet, to George and Elsie (nee Lembke) Tatroe. Herb served in the United States Marine Corps from 1943-1945 in the Pacific Theater of World War II in the Fifth Division. He then married June Bertucci on June 26, 1948 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rockdale, IL. He was very proud of serving others all his life.

KNOXVILLE, TN—Charmaine Galloway, 65, of Knoxville, TN, passed away Sunday, May 2, 2021 at Park West Hospital in Knoxville.
She was born in Joliet on Sept. 19, 1955. She lived in Wilmington for many years and was a graduate of Wilmington High School with the class of 1974. She retired in 2018 from Cabot Microelectronics in Aurora, IL. Charmaine was very patriotic and was a lifetime member of the VFW and Moose Lodge in Wilmington.

CJ Keys

BRAIDWOOD—CJ Keys, 65, of Braidwood, passed away peacefully with his family by his side, Monday, May 24, 2021 at his home.
Born Sept. 27, 1955 in Paris, IL, he was the son of Dilver Wayne and Barbara Jean (nee Rinesmith) Keys. CJ graduated from the Paris High School and soon after joined the military, serving for the United States Army. He was a correctional sergeant at Stateville Correctional Center, retiring in 2005 after 27 years of employment. He enjoyed gardening and loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

WILMINGTON—Peggy Ann Thomas (nee Butcher), 79, of Wilmington, passed away Sunday, May 16, 2021 at the Citadel of Bourbonnais.
Born Oct., 1941 in Urbana, IL, she was the daughter of Raymond Chester and Essie Lee (nee Wilson) Butcher. Peggy was previously employed at the Joliet Army Ammunition Plant (8 years) in Group 1 & 2, Group 3A, Acid Department Union Oil of California (Uniroyal 76) and Super Value in Wilmington. She was a member of the Island City Baptist Church and volunteered at the Caring Closet, both in Wilmington.

Terry Bumpous

ESSEX—Terry Bumpous, 60, of Essex and formerly of Custer Park, passed away Sunday, May 23, 2021 at his home.
Born Jan. 24, 1961 in Joliet, Terry Lynn was a son of Robert Joseph and Mildred (Beasley) Bumpous. He was raised and educated in Custer Park, and went on to become a heavy equipment operator with Local 150, retiring from Gallagher Asphalt.
Terry enjoyed hunting and fishing, as well as motorcycles. He will most be remembered as a doting “Papa” and cherished time spent with his grandsons.
