WILMINGTON—Marjorie Stewart Springborg Horn, of Wilmington, entered into the arms of her Lord after a valiant fight against breast cancer.
She was born in Omaha, NE to Marjorie (née Whitesel) Springborg and Robert Springborg. Baptized into a close personal relationship with Christ Jesus, Marjorie constantly studied and admonished those around her to follow her beliefs and practices.

CHICAGO—Don F. Soberski, 58, of Chicago, passed away Thursday, Aug. 5, 2021 at Amita Health St. Francis Hospital in Evanston, IL.
He was born Oct. 25, 1962 in Alameda, CA to Frank and LaVon (nee Davito) Soberski. Don graduated from Reed-Custer High School with the class of 1980 and also graduated from DeVry University. Throughout the years he enjoyed playing the drums with many bands. Surviving are two brothers, Doug (Karen) Soberski, of Wilmington and David Soberski; and one sister, Linda (Mark) Laughton, of Beaufort, NC.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

COAL CITY—Johnny R. Kerr, 59, of Coal City, passed away Thursday, Aug. 19, 2021 at Morris Hospital.
Born May 21, 1962 in Chicago, he was the son of William August Kerr and Ovalina Minton. Johnny drove a truck since he was 18 and proudly became the owner and operator of Eight Ball Express, Inc. trucking company. He was an avid pool player, shooting locally with leagues that played at the Stumble Inn, Corner Tap and Tuffy's Lounge. He was a member of the American Pool Players Association and the ACS pool league, shooting on the 8 and 9 ball teams.

COAL CITY—Stephen Joseph Tackett, 29, of Coal City, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, Aug. 20, 2021.
Born March 25, 1992 in Morris, Stephen was a son of Annette (nee Norton) Tackett and Terry Tackett. He was raised in Coal City and graduated from Coal City High School with the class of 2010. Steve was currently employed with PSC at ExxonMobil.

DIAMOND—Cheryl A. Doty, 65, of Diamond, passed away Monday, Aug. 16, 2021 at Morris Hospital. She was born on Feb.18, 1956 to Floyd and Francis (nee Bartley) Doty.
Cheryl grew up in Joliet. She earned her cosmetology degree while attending Joliet West High School. She was a hairdresser all of her adult life, most recently for Twin Oaks Coiffures. She had a love for hair and making sure her clients looked their best. She was a devoted grandma who lived for her grandchildren.

CUSTER PARK—Rick Hall, 73, of Custer Park, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Sunday, Aug. 15, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family.
Born Oct. 28, 1947 in Morris, Ricky Lee was a son of Duain “Fat” and Lois (nee Finch) Hall. He was raised in Braceville and graduated from Gardner South Wilmington High School with the class of 1966. On July 29, 1972, he married Pamela Jane Brown at the Custer Park Baptist Church.

MORRIS— Rex P. King, 67, of Morris passed away unexpectedly Tuesday Aug. 10, 2021, while working as a janitor at First United Methodist Church in Morris.
Born Oct. 8, 1953, in Clinton IL, he was the son of the late Robert and Doris (Phelps) King.
Rex grew up in Lockport, attending the schools in Lockport graduating from Lockport High School with the class of 1971.
On Dec. 23, 1977, he married Sandra Book, enjoying 44 years of marriage.
