MINOOKA—Robert J. Ortman Sr., “Bob,” “Camper Bob,” 85, of Minooka, was called home to the Lord on Monday, June 7, 2021.
He was born on July 29, 1935 to John and Marie Ortman. Bob was a very unique, loving, caring and outgoing individual who touched the lives of all who knew him. His home away from home was Indiana Beach Campground, where he was a seasonal camper for over 40 years. Bob’s favorite quote while sitting on his deck at site E21 was “The Ferries In!” and watch all the women walk by…

James C. Cummins

NEW LENOX— James Christopher Cummins, 94, of New Lenox, passed away peacefully Thursday, July 15, 2021 at his home. Born Nov. 25, 1926 in Springfield, IL to Walter and Mary Ann (nee Quinn) Cummins. Veteran of the United States Navy, having served during World War II. He was a lifetime member of the New Lenox VFW Post # 9545 and the American Legion Thomas E. Hartung Post #1977. He was also a previous member of the Lockport MOOSE. James retired as a pipefitter from the Ford Motor Company in 1988.

OMAHA, IL—Janet Ruth Frost, 76, of Omaha, IL formerly of Wilmington, passed away Friday, July 16, 2021, at the Evansville, IN hospital. Born to Ruth and Clanton Clark, she married Virgil L. Frost, Sr. and they resided in Lakewood Shores, Wilmington for nearly 60 years before recently moving. Surviving are her husband Virgil, Sr., three sons: Virgil L. Frost Jr. of Oregon, Richard of Norris City, IL, and Timothy of Kankakee; sisters: Sharon Wilson of Coal City, Mary Maley of Braidwood and Delores Kolar of Eat Moline, IL; one brother Randy Clark of Morris, IL; and eight grandchildren.

Clyde Barrow

WILMINGTON—Clyde Barrow, 83, of Wilmington and formerly of Romeoville, IL, passed away Saturday, July 17, 2021 at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee.
Born July 20, 1937 in Alabama, Clyde Wesley was a son of George Allen and Ruby Ellen (Harris) Barrow. He was raised in Alabama and Arkansas before entering into the United States Navy, from where he honorably served from 1955-1957. On Aug. 30, 1959, Clyde married Bernadine Beakley in Summit, IL and together they made a home and raised a family together.

BRAIDWOOD—Noreen June Brandle, 78, of Braidwood passed away, Saturday, July 17, 2021 at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee. She was born Jan. 20, 1943 in Chicago. Noreen was a former member of the Shepherd of Peace Lutheran Church in Braidwood. She was very active within the church and enjoyed helping as a secretary. She also helped the First Presbyterian Church in Braidwood with treasurer duties, where she also attended bible study. Noreen currently attended the Trinity Lutheran Goodfarm Church in Dwight.

BRAIDWOOD— Lorene “Lori” Deterding-Ayers, 53, of Braidwood, passed away unexpectedly, Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at Morris Hospital in Morris. Born Oct.. 23, 1967 in Joliet, to the late Larry and Carol Ann (nee Vaira) Deterding. She graduated from Reed-Custer High School and previously drove a school bus for the 255U school district. Member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Braidwood. Lori loved playing games on her iPad and also enjoyed bird watching. She had a love for dogs, especially her three, Snooky, Gizmo, and Beauty.

BRAIDWOOD—Thomas Toler, 68, of Braidwood, passed away Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at his home. Born on April 9, 1953 in East St. Louis, IL to the late John and Betty Louise (nee Harrell) Toler. He retired from the Laborers Local 75. He married Judy Bryant on Sept. 27, 2002 in Braidwood. Tom enjoyed fishing, wood crafting, mowing, NASCAR, poker and euchre.

William E. Neese Sr.

WILMINGTON—William E. Neese Sr., 82, of Wilmington, passed away Monday, July 12, 2021 at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee. He graduated from Wilmington High School and joined the United States Army. He was an avid Boy Scout Leader for over 20 years. William enjoyed woodworking, black powder shooting, boating and fishing.
