WILMINGTON—Ken Youngquist, 61, of Wilmington, formerly of Diamond, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 17, 2022 at AMITA St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet.
Born Sept. 15, 1960 in Lombard, Kenneth Allen was a son of Dolores (nee Rinehart) and Robert Youngquist. He was raised and educated in Joliet and graduated from Joliet West High School with the class of 1978. On May 5, 1979 Ken married Carla Colognesi, and together they lived and raised their family in Diamond.

GARDNER—Jeff Hines, 62, of Gardner, passed away March 19, 2022 at Morris Hospital.
Born March 20, 1959 in Morris, Jeff was a son of Paul “Jim” and JoAnn (Schimandle) Hines. He was raised and educated in Coal City, and graduated from Coal City High School with the class of 1977. On Dec. 21, 1979, Jeff married Patricia Lardi in Morris, and together they raised their family and made a home together in Gardner.

Frank Landolina

SHADOW LAKES—Frank (Francesco) Landolina, 71, of Shadow Lakes passed away March 7, 2022 at home.
He was born May 6, 1950 in Sicily to Maria and Biagio Landolina. Frank and his wife, Mary were weekenders at Shadow Lakes for 16 years before becoming full time residents for the past 8 years. He served over 12 years on the Shadow Lakes Board and various committees, was a union steward for over 20 years and a swim official for 7 years.
Survivors include his wife, Mary; son, Ryan Landolina; daughter, AnaMarie Wojnowiak; son-in-law, Justin Wojnowiak and grandson, Drew Wojnowiak.

Walter Natyshok

COAL CITY— Walter “Sam” Natyshok, 80, of Coal City, and formerly of Burbank, IL, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at his home surrounded by family. Born March 14, 1942 in Chicago, Walter Sam was the son of Walter and Estelle (nee Bernat) Natyshok. He was raised and educated in Chicago and graduated from Gage Park High School with the Class of 1960. Following high school, Sam enlisted with the United States Marine Corps and served as a reservist, something he was very proud of. On Feb.

COAL CITY—Raymond L. Tira, 69, of Coal City, passed away Saturday, March 12, 2022 at his residence. He was born on Jan. 25, 1953 in Joliet to John J. and Mary (nee Galbraith) Tira. He was a graduate of Joliet Junior College and Illinois State University with a degree in Business Administration/Industrial Technology. He was a hard worker and a master mechanic. Ray worked for various area manufacturers. He enjoyed gardening and waterfowl hunting in his earlier years with his good friend, Douglas J. Baker. He is survived by his sister, Marilyn A. Tira; two brothers, John M. Tira and James J.

Michael Ryan Jr.

DOWAGIAC, MI—Michael James Ryan Jr., “Monkey,” 42, of Dowagiac, MI and formerly of Coal City, ascended on March 9, 2022.
Born August 31, 1979 in Morris, Michael James Jr. was a son of Michael Sr. and Theresa (Vaughn) Ryan, of Diamond. He was raised and educated in Coal City and graduated from Coal City High School.

WILMINGTON—Sharon A. Ahlson (nee Widener), 74, of Wilmington, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 19, 2022, with her family at her side.
Sharon grew up in Erwin TN. She was a member of the Oldsmobile Club and various other car clubs throughout the area with her husband Ron. Sharon took pleasure tending to her garden and flowers. She also enjoyed crafting and taking various camping trips with her family. Sharon loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Megan Bugg

COAL CITY— Megan Melissa Bugg of Coal City, 20, passed away in her home on Wednesday evening, March 9, 2022 after a seven year and three month battle with Alveolar Rhabdomyosarcoma. Megan’s family was everything to her as she enjoyed nothing more than family holidays and vacations. She also loved her pets as her three cats (Boo Boo Kitty, Ophelia, and Belushi) and her dog (Sparky) were never far from her side.  Megan believed that everyone deserved the honor of dignity, respect, and kindness, and she lived her life spreading that message.
