TEXAS—Renee Marie Blasier, 59, passed away peacefully with family at her bedside on Sept. 5, 2024, after a courageous battle with colon cancer.
Born March 1, 1965 in Harvey, IL, she was the youngest of five children born to Laurin Ray and Rita Adele Blasier.

SYMERTON—Dwayne Edward Haemker, 59, of Symerton, IL, passed away on Thursday, September 5, 2024, at the University of Chicago Medical Center. Born on January 24, 1965, Dwayne is a son of Doris (Haemker) Yehling of Wilmington. He grew up in Chicago Heights and went on to build a respected career with the Boilermakers Local One out of Chicago, where he was a dedicated and hardworking employee.

Joan Adams, 92, of Ottawa, formerly of Wilmington, IL, passed away Tuesday, September 3, 2024 at Pleasant View Lutheran Home.

Following Joan's wishes, no services will be held. Cremation rites have
been entrusted to Ottawa Funeral Home.

Joan was born May 21, 1932, in Elliott, IL, to Bernice and Marceline
(Logan) Goad. She married Charles Adams on July 9, 1950. He preceded her
in death on March 15, 1988.

WILMINGTON—Pauline “Puddy” J. Gruca, 96, of Wilmington, IL died peacefully on Friday morning, Aug. 30, 2024 in assisted living in Kankakee, IL.
Born on March 29, 1928, in Duluth, Minnesota, she was a daughter of Paul P. and Maude E. Roberts. Growing up in Joliet, Pauline graduated from Saint Francis Academy. On February 12, 1949, she married Edward Thomas Gruca and together they created a loving home in Wilmington, where they raised their children.

WILMINGTON—Theresa Anne Kirn, 97, of Wilmington, IL, passed away peacefully on Tuesday evening, August 27, 2024 at LaSalle County Nursing Home in Ottawa, IL.
Born April 7, 1927 in Chicago, Theresa Anne was a daughter of Andrew and Margaret (O'Malley) Cotter. She was raised in Chicago and graduated from Fenger High School in the Roseland neighborhood of Chicago’s far Southside.

GODLEY—Julian P. Avelis, age 81, of Godley, formerly of Chicago, Matteson, Crete and Peotone, died Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at his home.
Born July 24, 1943 in Chicago, Julian Paul was a son of Julius and Helen (Kushmeider) Avelis. He was raised in the Chicago neighborhoods of Bridgeport and McKinley Park and graduated from Chicago Vocational High School with Dick Butkus in the Class of 1961. Julian worked as a manager at McBrady Engineering in Rockdale, Illinois for twenty-three years, and was granted 9 different patents in his career with the company.

WILMINGTON—Randy J. Osborn, 70, of Wilmington, formerly of Peoria, IL, passed away Sunday, Aug. 25, 2024 at The Citadel of Kankakee.
Born Feb. 26, 1954 in Burlington, IA, Randy James was a son of Retha Palmer and the late Earl Palmer. He was raised and educated in Wilmington and graduated from Wilmington High School with the class of 1972. Randy honorably served in the United States Air Force, and upon his discharge from service he began his career working in manufacturing for several companies, including Apollo Color Inc. in Joliet.
