Back in 2018 I featured two closely related cocktails that were poised for a comeback. I spent the last week on vacation in Key West and as always I was paying attention to bar service wherever I went.
The two closely related cocktails are the Greyhound and the Salty Dog, and I would say the comeback is complete judging by the sheer number of these cocktails that I encountered during my recent travels.

It's almost Derby time in Kentucky! The 148th running of the Kentucky Derby will take place on May 7 at Churchill Downs, one day after the Kentucky Oaks. I don't have the inside scoop on the best odds on the horses, but if you follow the recipe below your Mint Julep game will be strong come Derby Day.
By the way, we call it “The Kentucky Derby”, but the official name of the race is “The Kentucky Derby Presented by Woodford Reserve”.

I have had a trip to the Florida Keys on the books since the spring of 2020, and it looks like that trip is finally going to happen in 2022. I have had a fascination with space since I was a kid. I missed the Space Race of the 1950s and 1960s, but I didn't miss any of the Apollo movies or documentaries. The iconic Saturn V rocket was an integral part of our success in the Space Race, and served as the launch vehicle that sent a total of 24 astronauts to the moon as part of the Apollo program.
The rocket wasn't the only “Saturn” making history in the 1960s, Orange County bartender J. “Popo” Galsini introduced a Space Age cocktail that is as out of this world today as it was in 1967.
