Aubrey Hubbard Sr.

DIVERNON, IL—Aubrey Hubbard Sr., 92 of Divernon, IL and formerly of Wilmington, passed away Sunday, Sept. 26, 2021 at Arcadia Care in Clifton, IL.
Born May 2, 1929 in Tipton County, TN, Aubrey was a son of Elmer Ellis and Rudell (Roane) Hubbard. He was raised in Tennessee, and went on to marry Falma “Jane” Harris.
Aubrey retired as a Projection Molding Engineer and was a member of Auburn Christian Church in Auburn, IL. Fondly known as the “Candy Man,” Aubrey enjoyed watching Westerns and following the Chicago Cubs, as well as the New England Patriots. He cherished his dogs, and will be remembered for his love of Christmas, and his award winning holiday displays at his home.
Survivors include his daughter, Tammy McLearen, of Buckingham; son, Eddie Aubrey (Karen) Hubbard, of Texas; grandchildren: Kimberly McLearen-Jones (Matthew II), of Buckingham; Stephen Hubbard, of Indiana and Sammantha Hubbard (Michael Brandenburg), of Kankakee; great-grandchildren: Alaina, Belinda and Landyn, and many nieces and nephews.
Aubrey was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jane on May 26, 2021; son, Christopher Hubbard and son-in-law, George McLearen.
The family will receive friends for a memorial visitation at Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 E. Kahler Rd. in Wilmington on Sunday, Oct. 3, 2021 from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service at 12:30 p.m. Inurnment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Wilmington, where Aubrey and Jane will be laid to rest with their son, Christopher.
