Braidwood man arrested for sexual assault of a minor

A Braidwood man has been booked into the Will County Adult Detention Facility in Joliet, facing 20 counts of criminal sexual assault against a minor.

Braidwood police arrested Donald Wallen, 36, on Monday. Wallen resides on south Office Street in Braidwood, according to court documents.

The arrest followed an investigation that first began back in August of 2020, when the BPD opened that investigation in reference to a criminal sexual assault complaint involving a minor.

On March 8, Wallen was charged through the Will County States Attorney’s office with 10 counts of predatory criminal sexual assault of a victim under age 13, and 10 counts of criminal sexual assault of a family member under age 18.

He was arrested by Braidwood police and placed in the Will County jail on $500,000 bond.

Wallen is next scheduled to appear in court on March 29.
