Daniel J. Doglio

COAL CITY—Daniel J. Doglio, 61, of Coal City, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, Jan. 8, 2022.
Born Sept. 30, 1960 in Morris, he was the son of Albert T. “Dutch” and Darlene C. (nee Togliatto) Doglio. Dan graduated from Gardner-South Wilmington High School with the class of 1978. He formerly owned and operated “Dutch's” Servicenter in South Wilmington and currently was employed as the manager for Fisher Auto Parts in Morris for the last 29 years. He previously served on the South Wilmington Village Board for many years and was also the co-founder of South Wilmington Party in the Park. Dan was a member of the Assumption Catholic Church in Coal City and was also a third degree knight with the Braidwood Knights of Columbus council #1574, member of the Moose Lodge in Joliet, and the Eagles in Morris. His family meant the world to him and his smile said it all. He was also a a die-hard proud Chicago White Sox and Chicago Bears fan.
Surviving are his wife of 28 years, Kim (nee Doszak) Doglio, who he married Oct. 16, 1993 in Joliet; two children, Danny and Emma Doglio, both at home in Coal City; two brothers, David (Pamela) Doglio, of South Wilmington and Joseph (Kerrie) Doglio, of Coal City; one sister, JoEllyn (Greg) VanDuyne, of Wilmington; father-in-law, Bob Doszak, of Arizona; brother-in-law, Chris Doszak, of Wisconsin; nieces and nephews, Katie (Jacob) Olson, Kara (Zach) Claypool, Ashley and Brianne Doglio, Jessica Doszak and Jaxon Doszak and many great-nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents, mother-in-law, Judy Doszak and brother-in-law, Bobby Doszak.
Visitation for Dan will be at the R.W. Patterson Funeral Home & Crematory, Braidwood, Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2022 from 4-8 p.m. Funeral services will be from the R.W. Patterson Funeral Home & Crematory, Thursday, Jan. 13, 2022 at 9:30 a.m. to the Assumption of Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Coal City for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Braceville-Gardner Cemetery, Braceville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church would be appreciated.
