Darlene Orsini

MORRIS—Darlene Ann Orsini, 82, of Morris, and formerly of Ottawa, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Nov. 5, 2023.
Born Aug. 25, 1941 in Minonk, IL, Darlene Ann was a daughter of Edward J. and Catherine (Eve) Yarsinsky. She was raised and educated in Ottawa where she attended St. Columbus and graduated from Marquette Academy. Darlene went on to further her education at Rockford College School of Business where she was honored as their Prom Queen in 1960.
On May 19, 1960, Darlene married Joseph Orsini in Oregon, IL and together their marriage was blessed in St. Peter Catholic Church in Rockford later in December of the same year.
A dedicated wife and mother, Darlene devoted her attention to attending to the home and her family. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Morris; belonged to numerous HAM Radio clubs in both Joliet and Morris and was active with the Edgewood Aquarium Society in Brookfield, IL where she served as treasurer of the club.
In her free time Darlene enjoyed reading and was a fan of the Chicago Cubs. She will be remembered as a talented seamstress who was also skilled in hand work knitting and crocheting.
Survivors include her loving husband of 63 years, Joseph; two daughters, Dina (Dave) Walker, of Morris and Marie Orsini (Daniel Corbin), of Valrico, FL; six grandchildren: Matt Walker, Drew (Haley) Walker, Taylor (Daulton) Walker, Nicole Pratt, Kyle Pratt and Alexander Pratt, and one great-grandchild, Avery Walker.
Darlene was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Angelina Marie in 1972 and one sister, Marlene (Donald) Stout.
The family will receive friends for a visitation at Reeves Funeral Home, 408 E. Washington St., one block east of IL Route 47 in Morris on Friday, Nov. 10, 2023, from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.
Private family graveside services will follow on Saturday in Mt. Carmel Catholic Cemetery, where Darlene will be laid to rest with her daughter.
