Freshmen Coalers get back on track

TYLER PHILLIPS makes the stop as the freshman Coaler football team handed the visiting Canton Little Giants a giant 41-6 loss. Phillips recorded seven takles in the game. He was assisted on the play by Brody D’orazio, Cameron Minuth and AJ McGarvey.
The Coal City Freshmen football team responded to last week's loss by handling the Little Giants from Canton by a 41-6 slaying.
Leading the way defensively was Mr. Do it All Theo Fritz's 10 tackles with two of those for a loss. AJ. McGarvey and Ty Phillips both recorded 7 stops each.
The Coalers’ rushing attack marched up and down the field all night thanks to an always improving offensive line. Aidan Scrogham led the way with 138 yards and 2 touchdowns on 12 tries. Brody D'Orazio carried the rock 13 times for 106 yards and a TD. Kole Carpenter made the most of his one carry, taking it to the house from 55 yards out. Ty Phillips scored from 4 yards out. Connor Henline connected with Scrogham for a 44 yard score.
