Hooked on fishing!

PUT A FISHING POLE in the hands of young boys and girls and you’re certain to see some smiles. The Wilmington Lions Club were rewarded with nearly 50 smiling kids Saturday when it held its annual youth fishing contest at the South Island pond. Young fishermen were scattered on the shoreline of the South Island pond Saturday for the Wilmington Lions Club’s annual kids fishing contest.

Dozens of young anglers took part in the event, which lasted about 90 minutes on Saturday morning.

Unfortunately it was cut short with a downpour of rain followed by the sounding of the tornado sirens. Thankfully, the rotation of clouds did not produce a tornado.
